Why Live on Maui?
It’s all about the incredible active lifestyle!
Maui is best known for its beaches, and its sunsets – both undeniabley gorgeous. What is also gorgeous and undeniable about Maui is the lifestyle.
Very few places in the world offer such a great combination of health and wellness (physical and spiritual), appealing climate and outdoor activity. With such consistently, warm weather, it's easy to enjoy Maui's outdoors year round. It doesn't matter if you are a surfer or a sailor, a hiker or a golfer, Maui has something for you!
With it's many resort spas, there is also something for those lazy days too. But Maui is not all just lying around, working on your tan. The island hosts several major sporting events including a stop on the PGA (Professional Golf Association) tour in Kapalua, a USTA (United States Tennis Association) tennis event in Wailea, and a PWA (Professional Windsurfing Association) world tour finale at Ho'okipa Beach Park.
Also, international sports events in canoe and stand up paddle racing, a cycling event from the North Shore town of Paia, to the summit of the Haleakala Crater, a 10 000 ft elevation gain, as well as the Maui Marathon which starts at the Queen Ka'ahumanu Center in Kahului, and finishes 26.2 miles later, at the Whalers Village in Kaanapali.
If sports and physical activity isn't your thing, Maui has many places to simply sit and enjoy. There is the peace and quiet of Keokea, where Oprah has a home, Makena Big Beach, and one of my favorites, the summit of Haleakala. Being above the clouds and watching the planes fly below you offers different perspective. From Haiku to Hana, there are many yoga studios, and spiritual retreats, which cater to healing and well-being.
Lets face it, very few people move to maui to work -- you can work an 80 + hour week just about anywhere in the world. A vast majority of people move to Maui to live the lifestyle they have dreamed about. The Maui lifestyle is sensational. It comes as no surprise to me when I hear Maui residents say, "I came to Maui on vacation, ten years ago … and never left !" With all that Maui has to offer, all you need is place to stay …. and I can help you find that !
